Sustainability at Ivanhoe Primary School
A community thinking globally and acting locally.
As an educational centre, Ivanhoe Primary School aims to be a model for Sustainability in the community and beyond.
We aim to have a culture at our school that promotes respect for the future of not only our local environment but the environment on a global level.
At the end of 2005 we signed up to the Sustainable Schools Program co-ordinated by Ceres Environmental Park in Victoria and The Gould League.
As a community we have made a commitment to this program to practice and promote:
- Waste Wise initiatives
- Energy efficiency
- Water usage reduction
- Bio-diversity in the school grounds
This commitment is embedded in all ‘Learning Domains’ hence changing and moulding the culture of our school and educating the minds of the future.
