Summer Sports
Ivanhoe Primary School is a member of the Ivanhoe district school sports association. Senior students have the opportunity to participate in an Interschool Summer Sport program. As a Sunsmart School summer fixtures are played in the mornings. Sport choices include Bat tennis, Softball, Volleyball and Cricket.
Winter Sports
Interschool sport is played on a Friday afternoon. The winter sports competition includes Football, T-Ball and Netball.
Grade 3/4 Sport
Grade 3/4 sport is conducted on a weekly basis and focuses on the skills required for major games. Students are exposed to the skills of a variety of sports including rounders, bat tennis, cricket and T-Ball in a non competitive environment.
Athletics Sports
Students have the opportunity to represent the school in the district athletics carnival and the district cross country competition.
Swimming Program
All students are provided with the opportunity to participate in an intensive swimming program conducted at the Ivanhoe Aquatic Centre. Swimming lessons are conducted by trained swimming instructors provided by the Aquatic Centre.

Children in grades 3 to 6 also have the opportunity to participate in the District Swimming Carnival.
