2010 Prep Transition
Ivanhoe Primary School’s Prep Transition program commenced in September. There are four school visits. Transition dates are:
Wednesday September 2nd - 11.30 am - 12.30 am
Tuesday October 20th - 10.00 am - 11.00 am
Friday November 20th - 9.30 am - 11.00 am
Tuesday December 8th - 9.30 am - 11.00 am
BUILDING THE EDUCATION REVOLUTION (BER)
The Federal Government economic stimulus package includes 2.3 billion dollars of funding for school infrastructure and maintenance.
There are two components which are applicable to Ivanhoe Primary School - The National School Pride program and the Primary Schools for the 21st Century program.
Under the National School Pride program we have been awarded funding of $200 000. The funding will pay for the installation of a large synthetic grass playing surface to be located west of the football goal posts near the cricket nets extending to the second OSHC building. This large playing area will include cricket nets and provide a multi - purpose playing area for sports such as soccer, hockey and volleyball. Installation of the synthetic grass playing surface will be completed by the end of term four 2009.
A second part of the project is the installation of a 260 000 litre water storage tank to irrigate the reminder of the school oval.Installation of the water tank was completed during the term three school vacation.
Under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century program Ivanhoe Primary will receive a school hall. The hall is a fixed design using a Department of Education template. Schools do not have any say in the design of the hall. A government appointed architect has determined the best place to situate the hall is in the area where the present outdoor basketball court is situated.
Construction of the school hall will take place over a 10 month period. The commencement date for the hall constrruction will be known as soon as the Education Department completes the tender process.It hoped construction will start early in 2010.

Ivanhoe Primary School's Strategic Plan for the period 2009-2012 has been endorsed by the school council and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.

SCHOOL EVENTS
Music Concert
The 12th 'Celebrating Music Concert' for students in years 4-6 was held on Tuesday November 10th in the Performing Arts Centre at Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar.
The concert was a spectacular success. It was wonderful to see and hear so many of our students as they demonstrated their musical and drama talent. Congratulations to all the students who performed so confidently in front of an appreciative audience.
