For Term 2 2022, the Department of Education and Training has provided all government schools with the
option to hold each teacher’s entitled allocated professional practice day on the same day for all staff. This is the result of the new Victorian Government School’s Agreement with the Australian Education Union. This is to enable the most effective and efficient use of this day.
“Principals should schedule their common Term 2 2022, Professional Practice Day in consultation with their School Council.” Prior to taking this to School Council, the school’s Consultation Committee (which is made up of representatives from all year levels, specialist teachers, administration, and principal class) held a lengthy discussion to determine a date that has the least impact on student programs, interschool sports commitments, the swimming program, professional learning team meetings, reporting and assessment schedules.
” School Council met last night and approved Friday 3rd of June our Professional Practice Day. Students will therefore not attend school on this day.
This is NOT a curriculum day but a day where teams of teachers work on site to plan and collaborate to improve individual and collective teaching practice.
Should there be a minimum of 25 enrolments in Out of School Hours Care then that service will run.
It is imperative that if you choose to use the OSHC on the 3rd of June you contact the coordinator as soon as possible on 9499 5226.
